Breakages while goods are in transit are frustrating and costly, however for our customers in the medical industry damages can have a significant and widespread impact that goes beyond finance or reputation.
Our customer needed a safe cost effective and secure way of transporting its product. With a weight of 40kg the delicate piece of apparatus also included a fragile plastic cover which required a high level of protection from impact during transit. Another challenge was the solution needed to facilitate shipments of single and multiple units.
In partnership, we created a unique composite pack comprising of a wooden pallet with a corrugated tray and foam fittings to provide vital extra cushioning. creating a robust structure capable of withstanding impacts.
Beyond Testing
Rigorous testing proved that the solution was a success. We were able to demonstrate to the customer that every unit would be able to survive its journey completely undamaged, whatever the mode of transport and even in the event of the product being knocked over. This provided the customer with the confidence to ship product abroad with out the fear of any damage or breakage and the impact this would have on the end user.
